Variety of Applications
Elgin Power Solutions line of X/P enclosures allows a variety of applications in the mining and tunneling industry. Elgin enclosures are used for disconnect switches, controller enclosures, distribution enclosures, breaker operator enclosures, and starter enclosures. Applications include pump starters, continuous miners, shuttle cars, haulage systems, scoops, roof bolters, and long wall controls.
Enclosure Sizes
Enclosures range in size from 122 cubic inches up to 130,000 cubic inches with a wide array of allowable gland and receptacle entrances. Elgin packing glands range from 0.114” to 3.75” O.D. The Elgin X/P enclosure line offers over 85 X/P MSHA approved enclosures. The Elgin engineering team often works with the customer to guide them through the MSHA approval process for obtaining approval of custom enclosures.
